This was such a fantastic experience and an amazing way to see the city. I did this on my first day in Athens and so happy I did. Being shown around the markets before cooking was a great way to see and learn about the city center (I've also already been back to some of the shops we were shown multiple times because they're that good). The cooking portion was fabulous. Cannot wait to get home and use these recipes again. Definitely would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to see Athens with a different view.

This was the highlight of our Athens trip! Wonderful, thorough and fun. Touring the markets, personal stories and humor! Then to sum it up… a great Greek meal with Mariefi and friends. The group was intimate and friendly. Really wonderful!

Cooking at the Onion Kitchen was a great experience that my family thoroughly enjoyed. They were so king and happy to share traditional cooking methods as well as their local insights about the area. We would highly recommend putting this experience on the front end of your visit to Athens as it may very well shape your itinerary as well as the local delicacies you imbibe. We cook A LOT, and found the methods/tricks (how to get the cheese filling creamy, eggplant prep, feta mousse, etc) extremely useful. Ouzo, wine, music and good company and conversation really makes this experience shine.

We had a wonderful time! The directions to their place - accurate. The hosts - friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic. The market tour and class - easy, interesting and super fun. The Food !! - delicious !!! Lots of chit-chat over wine and food. Mariefi also gave us a lot of tips.. Overall it was one of the best experiences we had in greece.

Fantastic experience, great kitchen and dining space and very very tasty menu. Mariefi was fantastic!! Great insights into Greek food and culture. Definetely a must do experience when visiting Athens.

This cooking class was amazing! You not only learn great techniques but also a bit about Greece and the ingredients behind the dish itself. What's more authentic than learning how to make Greek food from Greeks? A MUST, IF YOU'RE IN ATHENS! x

The experience was amazing as we did a tour of places in an old part of the town and shopping for our groceries. And then heading back to our kitchen for cool atmosphere and then start the cooking. A great way to learn and talk to a local about the cultural heritage of food and drink. A must if u want to explore, learn and eat all in one trip.
